Choose a category and log at least 30 hours of activity per category. Enter your activity hours under the category that you believe is most relevant - you can choose! Verify your activities with a confirmation letter or email from your host organisation or club executive.

GROW | Develop and reflect on your skills

The reflection portfolio is a written component where you identify and articulate the skills you have developed, how you applied them and the impact you had. The guided reflections are designed so that you can translate your answers directly into an interview setting, helping you effectively communicate your skills and experiences to future employers.

For each category, the Reflection Porfolio is made up of 2 parts:

PART 1 | Skills Development

Choose two different transferable skills that you have developed through your activity hours. The skills you can choose from are drawn from our Otago graduate attributes as well as top skills desired by employers. Complete the reflection prompts for each skill.

PART 2 | Social Impact

Write about how your activity hours have contributed to a larger social or environmental cause. This is helpful to connect your local actions with regional, national and even international issues.

ACHIEVE | Receive your digital badge

Upon successful completion of a category, you will receive a certificate of completion and digital badge that can be shared with your networks and communities. You will have new experiences to share on your CV and gained greater confidence in your personal and professional abilities.

REPEAT | Do it again!

We encourage you to complete more than one category to demonstrate your different areas of interest and the varied contexts in which you have developed valuable transferable skills. You may wish to strive for the Emerging Leaders Award, which recognises students who have achieved in 4 or more categories.
