Purpose
The Greater Green Island Community Network is an organisation of like-minded people who have come together with a shared desire to foster a strong community which works together to develop its own solutions.
Description
The Green Island Christmas Market Day event is a chance for families and individuals to come together, enjoy a fun-filled day out, with food, crafts and entertainment. Now you too can help them to build community connection through this awesome event! There will be school performances and many different stalls and foodtrucks at this awesome Christmas market. What skills can you bring to help your community? There are lots of different ways who can help make the event run smoothly - The Greater Green Island Community Network would love to hear from you!
Helpers wanted for set up before the event and help with pack down after the event, administration, volunteer co-ordination, first-aid, parking and market wardens.
Pick a role that sounds interesting to you and let them know! You can come for an hour or for the whole day! No matter what you do you will be playing a key role in the smooth running of this awesome event.
As part of the event crew, you could help with:
Setting up (7am or 8am-10am) - putting up signs, distributing cones, moving furniture, helping stallholders set up, etc
Stallholder support (10am-1pm) - getting drinks, standing in for stallholders for bathroom breaks, general wellbeing checks
Parking/traffic management (9:30-11:30am and 11:30am-1:30pm) - parking wardens, monitoring pedestrians and vehicles
Packing up (1-2:30pm) - taking down signs, collecting cones, tidying up, moving furniture, etc

Requirements
These roles would suit someone:
who is community-minded
able to work as part of a team
friendly, aproachable, and good-natured
Time commitment
Flexible to suit your availability
2-3 hours anytime between 7am to approximately 3pm on Saturday 7 December 2024
Longer roles for those available
A volunteer co-ordination meeting may be required the day before.
