Organisation
Mountain Bike Otago
Purpose
Mountain Biking Otago proudly serves a diverse range of members with trails, races, events, and build days suited to a range of skill levels and disciplines.
Description
The Ōtepoti Enduro is a 2 day mountain bike event here in Dunedin. Mountain Bike Otago are currently recruiting for volunteers for this year's event which is going to be held on the 7th & 8th of December. This is an awesome event to be a part of - whether you're a rider or just love supporting a fantastic local event. The event will involve a day at Nicol's Creek, followed by a day on the trails around Whare Flat (3 mile hill) - transport may be available if necessary. New for this year, there is also an event village with camping available and an evening dual slalom race.
They’re looking for 25 people to be marshalls for their awesome biking event! Marshalls are needed at the top & bottom of each stage and some are scattered throughout the course. Your job is to make sure people are timing in and out, and stop riders if there is an incident on the course. Training, radios, and a pre-race briefing will be provided. No prior experience necessary & you don't have to be a mountain biker to help out! Feel free to bring a deck chair, snacks, some beats, and/or of course your bike! :) Lunch will be provided and each volunteer will receive a free T-shirt.
Requirements
Volunteers need to have a good attitude! Some level of fitness is also required but there are a variety of positions available so there is something for everyone!
