Description
We are looking for volunteers capable of supporting community members in a drop-in centre with device training or help.
Volunteers will be working within a drop-in centre space to provide support with the option of utilising a course framework.
Working closely with community members to assist them in the set up and use of their devices. This will be a range of devices from laptops to tablets to smartphones and enabling the participants to use their devices independently. This can also include advice in purchasing appropriate devices for the person.
This role will increase your communication skills, particularly when working with community members, but also working within a team. Language and descriptive skills will also be learned and you will need to be patient with a good sense of humour.
Requirements
An ideal candidate for this role would be:
Available weekly at the same time for 2 hours
Friendly, patient and have a good sense of humour
Enjoy long discussions and stories from our participants
Be able to communicate effectively to a range of different learning styles
Have a broad knowledge of technology and device use
Vaccine pass required
Experience with google classrooms would be preferred but we can train in this if you're unfamiliar.
References for this role will be taken.
