Fabric Sorter - Stitch Kitchen

Fabric Sorter - Stitch Kitchen
Organisation
Stitch Kitchen
Description
We are looking for volunteers to sort the fabric. Anyone with any kind of sorting, display experience (working in an op shop for example) or knowledge of textiles would find their skills put to good use.
We receive a vast array of sewing and textile craft supplies from individuals in our community each week. With the help of our volunteers we sort these materials and display them to maximise value in our second-hand haberdashery. These include yarn for knitting/crochet etc; fabrics of all sizes and types; buttons; zips; ribbons; lace; patterns and everything you can image in a craft store.
Anyone with a willingness to learn about different textiles, attention to detail, patience and a positive attitude is very welcome.
Requirements
Stitch Kitchen is at 474 Princes Street (beside Artsenta).
Comfortable clothes which you can move in, and preferably don't hold much static. Closed in shoes for safety.
Full health and safety training provided along with training in how each task can be done, with flexibility to adapt to your abilities and ideas.
Time commitment
Main time for fabric sorting is weekly on Wednesdays 10:30-1pm, but other times are available by arrangement.
