Purpose

Making South Dunedin a Great Place to Live, Work and Play. Our main goals are to: Advocate, Connect, Celebrate and Communicate and be informed by the People of South Dunedin.

Description

The South Dunedin Street Festival is returning on 8 March 2025, brought to you by the South Dunedin Community Network. This is a one-day event where lower King Edward Street s transformed into a field day showcasing performers, local artists, businesses and community service organisations. Volunteers help bring a true community feel to the event!

They’re looking for awesome people to fill the following roles:

Poster runners, during February: needed to put up posters at cafes, supermarkets and community notice boards around Dunedin and surrounding suburbs, and position roadside billboards, in the weeks before the festival.

Setup Helpers,8:30 - 10:30am: helping with the setup of the street furniture/signage/street decorations.

Street Festival Waste Warriors, 2 hour shifts between 9:30am - 3:30pm: a helper at each bin station to keep the bin auditors company and help if there is a rush and ensure someone is at the bins at all times. (Pre-event induction required).

Crockery System Dish Runners, 2 hour shifts between 9:30am - 3:30pm: ensuring a smooth rotation of plates, bowls, cups and cutlery between the participating food trucks, the crockery drop-off point, and the commercial sanitisers (Pre-event induction required).

Volunteer Coordinator Helpers, 8:30am - 4pm: helping the Volunteer Coordinator with tasks on the day such as helping set up the volunteer lunch station at the Armitage, runners to deliver food or check on attendance/wellbeing of volunteers. (Pre-event induction required).

Pack-down Helpers, 2:30 - 4:30pm: packing away the street Furniture/signage/street decorations, help with the exiting of the stall-holders and general clean up
