Description
Looking for a casual conservation volunteer opportunity that you can do at your own time? Join the Predator Free Dunedin efforts to reduce possums, rats and stoats population across Dunedin!
City Sanctuary, The Halo Project, and Otago Peninsula Biodiversity Group are working together to reduce the threat of possums, rats, stoats, and other pests across Dunedin to enable our native species to thrive. The Dunedin City Council works closely together with the three organisations to engage residents to protect native wildlife.
Volunteer opportunities include:
Checking traps in parks and reserves (takes about 1-2hrs, walking along marked line, clean and rebait devices, etc.), or
Get a trap and set them up in your backyard (equipment, training, ongoing support provided)
If you would like to join, please get in touch by applying below. DCC will then connect you to the right organisation operating in your area.
