Age Concern Otago

Description

You can make a real difference to the health and happiness of an older person living in the community by giving them a regular visit to look forward to!

Age Concern Otago promotes the wellbeing, rights and respect of older persons over 65. They are active and vocal on relevant issues and work to ensure older people stay connected with the community. Do you enjoy speaking with people and making new friends?

  • Age Concern is looking for volunteers who would like to support socially isolated elderly people in our communities by making regular visits to them at home

  • A regular visit is something to look forward to, and makes a real difference to the health and happiness of an older person in need of friendship and companionship

  • Volunteer Visitors come from a wide range of backgrounds and age groups, and Age Concern is committed to ensuring that volunteer vistors have a rewarding, safe, and enjoyable experience

  • If you decide to volunteer, you'll be matched with an older person who you have some things in common with, and regular visits will be set up at a time and frequency that suits you both
