Purpose
To foster community relations with in Caversham.
Description
Caversham Community Group are running a family BBQ and are looking for 5-6 volunteers to help run some fun games!
The lawn games we are looking for helpers to run are:
Egg and Spoon race - Can competitors race the length of the reserve with a egg cradled in their spoon without dropping it?
Sack Racing - Who can be the fastest to hop inside their sack and race/hop the length of the reserve?
Treasure Hunt - Design and run the hunt for clues around the Caversham reserve where children are challenged to find all the clues and return them to the hunt base camp for collection and drawing winners.
Gumboot Toss - Who can throw the gumboot the furthest in a test of strength and technique.
Giant Jenga - who can remove blocks out of the giant Jenga tower without it falling over?
Kubb, a Scandinavian lawn game where players try to knock over wooden blocks (kubbs) by throwing wooden batons at them, with the ultimate goal of knocking down the "King".
Your role will be to help set up the event, run the games, and help pack down. You’ll be provided the equipment and the games will be explained to you.
Requirements
Must have experience working with children
Confident and clear communication skills
Time Commitment
The event runs from 11 AM to 5 PM Saturday 12th of April
Location
Station Road, Caversham, Dunedin (across from Carisbrook school)
