The Valley Project

Purpose

The Valley Project is a community-led development project that builds community connections and promotes the wellbeing of local families and whānau. ​​Their vision is of an inclusive, connected and thriving community. They have places, spaces and activities that enable belonging and connectedness. Their mission is to mobilize our community's strength and resources into locally led action. No matter who we are or where we are from, together we have a voice, make action and create hope.

Description

The Valley Project are putting on a community dinner on Saturday 22nd February and are on the hunt for volunteers to help out with the event!

Join for a night of connection and fun! Connect with others in your community and enjoy a free, delicious meal together. Bring your friends, family, or just yourself and make new connections in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Requirements

• If you’re under 18 years old you must have a guardian or parent volunteer with you

Location

Valley Baptist Community Centre, 270 North Road, North East Valley, Dunedin

Time Commitment

Volunteers are needed on the day between 1 - 9 PM, shifts are 3 hours long.

Shift 1: 1pm - 4pm - Kitchen prep

Shift 2: 2pm - 5pm - Kitchen prep and event set up

Shift 3: 3pm - 6pm - Finish kitchen prep, do dishes from kitchen prep, and welcome people as they arrive

Shift 4: 4.30pm - 7.30pm - Assist serving up food, mingle with the guests and assist with activities

Shift 5: 6pm - 9pm - Wash dishes, final kitchen clean up and event pack down (tables away, sweep floors etc)
