Dunedin Riding for the Disabled
Purpose
Dunedin RDA is a not-for-profit organisation whose core purpose is to improve confidence, independence & wellbeing for people experiencing disability, or who have specific challenges or needs, through therapeutic horse riding & horse care.
Description
Come join our riding sessions here at Dunedin RDA.
Volunteers help setting up for the lesson (tack/props etc), assisting the riders with grooming, leading the horses during the session, sidewalking (assisting riders with their balance whilst on the horse), untacking and putting the horses away for the day all under the supervision and guidance of our amazing RDA coaches.
And believe it or not - Horse experience isn't even necessary for the role - all training is provided.
It's a great way to learn new skills, have fun, positively impact riders and people in need within our community and of course get lots of horsey cuddles!
