Description
DOC are looking for people to help out with a restoration planting project in the Lower Clutha catchment! You’ll be planting near rivers/creeks adjacent to farmland. Clear briefings will be carried out at the start of every day.
Transport provided! We meet at the DOC office (Level 1, 265 Princes Street, Dunedin, 9016) at 8am each day (back by 4:30pm) and DOC provide transport to and from the office to the plant sites.
Each day will be full days in the field but 2+ hours will be travel to and from site and they don’t expect hard work and high level of fitness is not required. Tea/coffee provided and maybe even some choccie biscuits…
You will need to bring basic gear such as:
• Warm clothing (top, hat, leggings etc)
• Gumboots preferably or tramping boots
• Sun Hat
• Rain jacket
• Food and Water
• Any essential medication
They will bring gear some gear including gloves, spades, sunscreen, tea/coffee and snacks.
There are often no toilet facilities on-site however there will be opportunities on the drive to and from site and they can do a quick trip into town if needed.

Reasonable level of fitness
Time Commitment
Whole day (2 hours travel, 6 hours planting)
The current tentative dates are: 8 April, 9 April, 30 April, 1 May
