Purpose
To rescue and rehome unwanted dogs from the DCC pound.
Description
Dog Rescue Dunedin (DRD) is looking for volunteers to help their fundraising stalls. The activities involved are:
Stand behind the stall, be pleasant to passers-by and ask if they would like to buy a raffle
Thank the passers-by for their donations
Provide brochures and information to the public
Contact Dog Rescue Dunedin for any answers not known, contact details are on brochures and newsletter
Requirements
Have love for animals
Polite
Some basic knowledge about DRD (Help can be taken from website, newsletter and brochures)
Able to stand for couple of hours
Tidy clothes with a volunteer's badge (available at stall) or Dog Rescue Dunedin T-shirt (available for purchase at stalls)
Various locations throughout Dunedin - mainly foyers or outside supermarkets, malls and warehouses
Usually a new volunteer is paired with an experienced volunteer to learn the ropes
Volunteer required to undergo police check if have previous convictions
Volunteers to share a good character reference
Reimbursement of 77c/km for DRD related travel
Time Commitment
Few hours per month. Stalls are held either on Saturday or Sunday between 10 am and 5pm - 1.5 to 2 hours
