Purpose
SuperGrans support people to learn new skills. We help people with all sorts of things from Cooking and Knitting & Sewing to Household Management and Gardening!
Description
SuperGrans are looking for volunteers to help with their community workshops!
The workshops are generally held at SuperGrans Place in South City Mall - 132 Hillside Road, South Dunedin but may be at other locations from time to time.
No training needed. Volunteers are supported by Manager as needed.
Volunteers will be interviewed and will need to provide two personal referees for a verbal character check. Police vetting will also be undertaken. Mileage will be reimbursed as required.
Skills that can be gained: contribution to the community, personal satisfaction, social Connections
Requirements
A willingness to help others.
An interest in Cooking, Knitting, Sewing, Gardening, Household management etc (any one or more)
An ability to get on with people of different backgrounds
Non-judgmental
There is no age limit to being a SuperGran (you don't need to be a grandparent).
We welcome male volunteers!A police check is required
Time commitment
Time commitment is flexible. You can do as much or as little as you want.
One on One clients can take 1 - 2 hours a week.
Group work will vary depending on your interests.
