Social Media Marketing Strategist - K9 Medical Detection NZ

Social Media Marketing Strategist - K9 Medical Detection NZ
Organisation
K9 Medical Detection NZ
Purpose
K9 Medical Detection NZ are developing a non-invasive, easily accessible and accurate urine test for early-stage cancer diagnosis. We train medical detection dogs to alert to the specific volatile organic compounds excreted in human patient urine when there is cancer present in the body. The advantage of using dogs for this work is that they are fast, accurate and love their jobs!
Description
We are looking for a senior marketing student to help us devise a broad social media strategy to grow awareness of our charity, of the work that we are doing in cancer research and to increase charitable support. We seek someone with a deep understanding of what it takes to create a great marketing strategy using social media and employing text, images and video to the best advantage. We hope this will be mutually beneficial, offering the student the chance to apply skills learned in an academic environment to a real-world situation, in a non-profit context. We hope to gain sufficient skills and knowledge under the student's guidance to sustain a social media strategy ongoing.
We will give full background details about the research work that we undertake and what we are hoping to achieve through a social medial strategy. Ongoing guidance will always be available from us to assist with the development and maintenance of the strategy.
Requirements
We would prefer a senior student for the role; someone in their last year of undergraduate study.
Must be comfortable around dogs as we have nine medical detection dogs, and usually four or five of them could be on site at any time.
We are not on a bus route, so own transport preferred, but we may be able to arrange a pick up from Mosgiel.
Time commitment
Flexible, 1 hour a day up to five days a week
A commitment of a full academic year is required
